By utilising next generation sequencing technology and our own comprehensive DNA reference libraries, we can undertake biodiversity assessments to identify all species that have left their DNA in an environmental sample. We have worked with clients to detect species in a range of groups as outlined below.
This fish assay can be used to detect fish species in environmental samples from freshwater, estuarine and marine environments.
This vertebrate assay is used to detect any vertebrate animal that has left their DNA in an environmental sample e.g. mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles. It provides a general overview of vertebrate species present but may miss rare or low-density species.
This amphibian assay can detect both native and invasive amphibians within Australia.
This decapod assay is designed to target decapod crustaceans in freshwater environments (e.g. crayfish, shrimps), but will also detect marine crustaceans (e.g. lobster, prawns, crabs).
Invertebrates & Macro Invertebrates
Something that is hot on our agenda is the incredible world of insects. We are excited to be undertaking some initial projects in this space! Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in testing for invertebrates or macroinvertebrates.
