Josh Griffiths, Senior Program Manager & Ecologist
BA Science (Honours), Environmental Biology

Josh lives and breathes wildlife. As Wildlife Ecologist & Senior Program Manager, he has over 20 years of experience in field surveys of Australian fauna. He is recognised as one of the leading platypus experts in Australia with over 15 years’ research experience. Through his extensive field work, he has developed the ecological knowledge to design and implement outcome-focused projects. At EnviroDNA, Josh designs and executes strategic eDNA surveys and is known for his ability to analyse, interpret and communicate data for clients.

Josh is experienced in the first-hand challenges involved in live-capture surveys. It’s this experience that has drawn Josh to eDNA. The highlight of his job is that he gets to interact with a variety of organisations and communities, which means that he’s constantly sharing ideas, as well as hearing other people’s thoughts, on how best to protect Australia’s flora and fauna for future generations.

If you ever meet Josh, he is happy to chat all things platypus. His work in ensuring its conservation has resulted in completing over 10,000 hours of field studies throughout Victoria, Queensland, and Tasmania.
