Dr Chantelle Reid
BA Science (Honours), PhD Agricultural Science

Chantelle has over eleven years of research, laboratory and field experience within the aquaculture and aquarium industry. Growing up in Queensland, she developed an affinity for the ocean and everything it contains. This interest led her to studying a Bachelor of Marine Science at University of Queensland, majoring in Ecology and Biology. Chantelle pursued an honours research project looking at the impacts of ocean acidification and temperature on growth and survival of coral reefs, and completed her PhD investigating the impacts of environment and diet on Atlantic salmon gut microbiome.

She is passionate about applying her experience and skill-set in areas of science that support that support and promote ecosystem biodiversity, sustainability and conservation. Outside of the lab, you will find her with her fluffy companion Nala, or playing for a local roller derby team that is currently ranked number 2 in the world!
