Listed as vulnerable due to habitat degradation, the Yarra pygmy perch is a small freshwater fish that commonly grows to approximately 6.5cm. Found in Victoria and South Australia preferring slow flowing waters, wetlands and drainage channels with plentiful vegetation. It is closely related to the southern pygmy perch.
