About

Right up with the cat and fox as the worst species to have ever been introduced to Australia is the cane toad. They are large in size with dry, warty skin, they were first introduced to combat insect pests in sugar plantations in Queensland in 1935. Eating almost anything they can swallow, they are also poisonous to humans and other animals, and compete with native amphibians.

eDNA Test

This species eDNA probe was developed as a monitoring tool on toad-free off-shore islands. Can be used for monitoring incursions and eradications in Australia.
